SLOW FOOD

I joined Slow Food as a freshman and am now president of the club with my main responsibilities being to plan and organize dinners. The Slow Food movement represents food that’s good for us, good for our environment and good for the people who grow, pick and prepare it. In other words, food that is good, clean and fair. On Clemson's campus we prepare $5 homemade meals from local ingredients for students and the community at large. The purpose of Clemson's chapter is to...

-
Advocate for good, clean, fair food
-
Protect the cultural traditions surrounding food
-
Influence the Clemson campus to be more aware of where their food comes from
-
Identify and use the components of a sustainable food system in order to better the university
-
Promote the subtle beauties of food that are often ignored

This is a slideshow I presented at the first annual Clemson Food Summit in 2016. It summarizes Slow Food's mission as an international organization and the purpose of Clemson's chapter on campus. Enjoy!
Running Club
I started running competitively my freshman year of high school, and have continued my passion for the sport in college through Clemson's Running Club. It has given me the opportunity to set goals for myself and race without the pressure of being a part of a collegiate team. I also participate in running club's weekly service project that partners with several local elementary schools to promote physical activity through their own running club.

Clemson Life
The Clemson LIFE program is designed for students with intellectual disabilities who desire a post secondary experience on a college campus. By incorporating academics, independent living, employment, social/leisure skills, and health/wellness skills, students are equipped to become self-sufficient young adults. I have enjoyed volunteering as a lunch buddy, being a part of their annual Night to Shine prom, and filling in as an Independent Living Assistant.

FCA International Team
Clemson's Fellowship of Christian Athletes is one of the largest student lead organizations in the nation. International team an outreach teams within FCA. Through my involvement with international team I've had the opportunity to become friends with students from all around the world I would not have the opportunity to cross paths with in my everyday life. We host game nights, enjoy dinners together, and attend international events on campus. After joining an Indian dance team this past year I had the pleasure of performing in several of these events.
